Position Overview:

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and organized Student Activities Coordinator to join our team for the summer. The ideal candidate will have a passion for community engagement, creativity in activity planning, and a commitment to fostering a positive environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning and execution of recreational activities, social events, and community programs that enhance resident engagement.

Lead group activities, such as games, arts and crafts, fitness sessions, and outdoor events.

Encourage resident participation and monitor attendance and feedback.

Collaborate with volunteers and community groups to support special events.

Ensure activities are inclusive, accessible, and meet the diverse needs of residents.

Maintain records of program attendance, resident participation, and event outcomes.

Qualifications:

Secondary or Post-secondary student in Health, Education, Social Sciences, Recreation, or a related field.

Experience with recreational programming or community events is considered an asset.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Creativity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards working with seniors.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

We have acquired a license for a virtual reality system tailored specifically for the needs of the elderly with an array of programs, activities and content to engage our clients in experiences and activities that they could not access or enjoy otherwise.
