Role Description
Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, the Manufacturing Engineer/Technician provides technical support to the engineering and production teams. In this role, you will develop part-specific documentation, including manufacturing work instructions and CNC programs, and drive the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. You will also assist with root cause analysis and the execution of corrective actions to ensure STELIA products meet high quality standards. The Manufacturing Engineer/Technician fosters a culture centered on safety, quality, collaboration, and accountability.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including manufacturing and rework plans, as well as detailed work instructions.
- Support the implementation of engineering changes and process improvements, ensuring effective coordination within the build process.
- Analyze and enhance production workflows to align with program objectives and delivery targets.
- Assist in interpreting and developing engineering designs, drawings, and specifications using both traditional methods and CAD tools.
- Develop CAD/CAM applications to support the operation and programming of robots, CNC machines, and other automated manufacturing processes.
- Contribute to the design and development of moulds, tools, jigs, and fixtures to support production needs.
- Participate in root cause investigations and assist in implementing corrective actions for manufacturing process issues and quality concerns.
- Help identify production risks and support the development and execution of mitigation strategies, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Perform a variety of mechanical tests and conduct analyses on machines, components, and materials to support process validation and qualification efforts.
Your Qualifications

Your qualifications include:
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace Engineering Technology, or a related field focused on manufacturing or composites.
- Prior experience in a mechanical, industrial, aerospace or manufacturing environment is a definite asset.
- Professional Engineering Licensure (P.Eng) is an asset, but not required.
- Eligibility for Technician or Technologist certification in Canada is an asset.
- Hands-on experience with composite materials or aerospace manufacturing processes is an asset.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T, bills of material, schematics, CAD/CAM models, and technical specifications.
- Proven ability to create manufacturing plans and detailed work instructions.
- Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and techniques.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 and CAD/CAM software (e.g., CATIA, Mastercam).
