About Atlantic Cultivation Ltd. & Atlantic Cannabis (ACL)

Atlantic Cultivation is a premium Canadian cannabis cultivator and processor located in St. John's, NL. We operate a world-class, state-of-the-art indoor cannabis production facility where we cultivate cannabis using top feed drip hydroponics in rockwool. Additionally, we have 10 Cannabis Retail Licenses. These stores are called Atlantic Cannabis and they are located throughout NL. The Role - Business Development Specialist

Atlantic Cultivation is looking for a commercially minded and experienced Business Development Specialist to join our team. This role reports to the Commercial Manager and plays a pivotal role in coordinating our commercial initiatives and maintaining regulatory compliance in a fast-paced, highly regulated industry. As the Business Development Specialist, you'll oversee cross-functional initiatives, including product launches, demand planning, stock offers, and external partner communications. You'll also act as a point of contact for provincial boards and key retail partners across Canada, helping to keep our brand responsive and competitive across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management of Commercial Activities: Oversee cross-functional projects across purchasing, product launches, supply chain, and partner programs.
  • Day-to-Day Customer Team Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for provincial boards, retail partners, and distribution teams.
  • Sales Analysis & Reporting: Support data pulls, trend analysis, and performance reporting to inform decision making.
  • Stock Offers to Provinces: Manage the flow of stock offers and submissions across all provincial boards.
  • Demand Planning & Product Allocations: Work closely with commercial, operations, and inventory teams to forecast, plan, and allocate inventory across markets.
  • Product Call Submissions: Prepare and submit responses to provincial product calls and RFPs.
  • Category Deck Creation: Build product decks and positioning materials for category manager presentations (likely in coordination with our design team)
  • Partner Administration & Communication: Maintain clear lines of communication with partners, vendors, processors, and LPs.
  • Cultivation & Processing Analysis: Review data from cultivation and processing to identify efficiencies or issues impacting supply and cost.
  • QA Interaction: Liaise with the QA team on release documentation and COAs for lots being transacted.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • 3+ years' experience in commercial project management, sales operations, or supply chain, preferably in a regulated industry such as cannabis.
  • A strong understanding of the Cannabis Act and provincial cannabis regulations across Canada.
  • Proficient in data analysis, forecasting, inventory planning, and creating sales and category materials.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with ERP and CRM systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with excellent active listening abilities.
  • Skilled at building relationships, motivating others, and providing effective training.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.

Job Specifics

  • Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Based at our St. John's, NL head office.
  • Must be 19 years of age or older.
  • Completion of a Criminal Record Check is required.
