Purpose

This role is crucial for overseeing the development and support of our IB digital banking platforms, including onboarding and servicing capabilities across the international footprint.

  • They own the platforms that handle value proposition discovery, growth, client onboarding, product onboarding and fulfilment, day-to-day banking, servicing, advisory, and payment needs across mobile and web technologies, including omni-channel capabilities extending to branches, remote branches and digitally assisted models, and underlaying process orchestration.
  • This position requires a leader who can drive platform engineering practices, instill an Agile and DevOps mindset, and champion site reliability engineering and platforms security.
  • They will lead engineering teams and play a pivotal role in co-leading solution design, together with Architecture and Business partners, ensuring solutions enable the client-centric value proposition and scalable operating model transformation of International Banking, to ensure that the strategy becomes reality.
  • This role requires a leader who can balance technical excellence with strategic insight, co-leading solution design and fostering a culture of innovation

Accountabilities

Engineering Leadership:

  • Lead and manage a senior team of Directors and Senior Managers focused on building and evolving client banking platforms for diverse client segments.
  • Foster an Agile, DevOps and SRE culture across teams, emphasizing continuous discovery and delivery, and Day 2 maturity.
  • Drive platform engineering practices and deep technical skills, ensuring scalability, security, and performance are synergistic with accelerated value delivery.

Platform Ownership and Strategy:

  • Own and evolve global platforms that meet the day-to-day banking, servicing, and payment needs of diverse client segments, with a focus on platform capabilities.
  • Align platform strategies with business goals, enhancing client experience and operational efficiency, leading with innovation.
  • Lead efforts to enhance platform-driven business capabilities through collaborative, cross-functional teamwork, cutting-edge technologies and modern practices.

Solution Delivery:

  • Co-lead the design of solutions with in-Country Engineering Heads, through a platform lens. Develop cloud-native and scalable capabilities aligned with business and client needs.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of global solutions and initiatives within the portfolio, to deliver high-quality technology products while maximizing client and business value.
  • Ensure seamless operation of mobile, web, API, event and orchestration platforms, including high performance, stability and reliability.

People Leadership:

  • Lead and coach a high performing, engaged, and diverse team

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or other related field, OR equivalent work experience.
  • Bilingual, with English and Spanish proficiency.
  • Prior experience and deep knowledge within the technology domain is a must (e.g., software engineering, IT & Digital strategy, enterprise architecture, complex technology delivery, IT innovation)
  • Prior experience and deep knowledge within the banking domain are strongly preferred (cash management)
  • 10+ years of experience in any of Software Engineering Leadership, IT Solution Design and Delivery or Software Architecture is required.
  • 5+ years of experience leading Software Engineering leaders and complex technology initiatives is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in modern technologies highly preferred, such as cloud platforms, microservices, mobile and web architectures, DevSecOps, and modern data platforms.
  • Strong expertise in agile practices, cloud technologies and cross-functional team leadership preferred.
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic business environment.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, leadership, and influential capabilities.
  • Self-motivated; work both independently and collaboratively with multi-functional teams, as both a leader and member.
  • Exceptional planning and analytical skills, ability to discern research information / data and focus on the critical business issues.
  • Exceptional presentation and written communication skills.
