The Senior Support Engineer will be working in a cross functional technology team responsible for the bank's Customer data and will contribute to the overall success of the team ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in delivering end-to-end software solution.
The incumbent should be a self-starter and be able to work independently with little or no supervision. They should have strong communication skills, a client focused mindset, and take accountability and ownership of tasks.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Contributes to a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
• Development, testing, and ongoing maintenance of integration application components satisfying functional and non-functional requirements
• Ability to develop in a Java-based system integration solution through contributing to good design, clear documentation, simple coding style, and test automation.
• Experience coding in a professional environment, taking requirements from concept to production use.
• Willingness to utilize existing Scotiabank technologies rather than rebuilding near-equivalent functionality.
• The ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

• Minimum 7+ years of experience in enterprise systems
• Knowledge of cloud integration with ETL.
• Knowledge of deployment processes and release pipelines. Eg : Jenkins, Bitbucket/Git
• Unix/AIX script experience
• ETL tool experience; Talend preferred
• Data modeling and mapping
• Performance tuning and optimization
• SQL and database programming (Preferably DB2)
• Version control systems
• Excellent communication skills (verbal/written/presentation)
• Ability to work in cross functional teams
• Experience in agile methodologies like SCRUM/Kanban
• Experience with DBR Execution and Documentation, Vulnerability fixes, etc.
• Ability to adapt at working in both Agile and traditional Waterfall SDLC methodologies
• Strong interpersonal skills and team mentality
• Ability to understand application/system flows
• Ability to multi-tasks and prioritize
