- Follow cyber security best practices and Halifax Water policies to protect OT systems and corporate data.
- Perform project-based work as assigned via the Cyber Security Program Roadmap, such as equipment replacement and network enhancements.
- Perform operational tasks as established in the Operational Cyber Security Roadmap such as:
- Perform and test OT system backups.
- Assist in OT site assessments, penetration testing and vulnerability scans.
- With direction of the Cyber Security Analyst (OT), monitor security alerts, investigate and remediate the alert
- Assist in the OT patching process
- Manage and maintain OT end point protection systems.
- Maintain documentation in accordance with the HW Technology Use Manual.
- Assist in the development, review, and enhancement of OT policies, procedures, workflows, and risk assessments.
- Provide network and cyber security training regarding OT devices.
- Consult with Enterprise Architects, Technical Architects, and OT Analysts to keep the Enterprise Architecture and OT system's architecture up to date. Consult with other staff as required.
- Participate in asset management on OT equipment, such as updating baseline configurations, planning, testing, and controlling the release of new features within the cyber security scope.
- Review common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVE's) and recommend remediation strategies.
- Participate and contribute to the Disaster Recovery program.
- Participate and contribute to the Incident Response program.
- Support the organization with cyber security, network configuration and network troubleshooting within the OT environment.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
- Education:
- Grade 12, plus additional Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technologist diploma or Cyber Security certificate / diploma or equivalent technical certificate from a recognized educational institution.
- Experience:
- 2 years of experience related to securing an Operational Technology environment or Cyber Security with a focus on OT. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Candidates must have advanced analytical and IT/OT systems diagnostic experience.
- Experience in utilities, manufacturing or process control environment is considered an asset.
- Experience with network protocols, such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, DNP3, SNMP, PI connectors and OPC.
