We are searching for a Senior IT Specialist to join our team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity
- Manage enterprise network.
- Deals directly with internal customers, as well as external partners.
- Responsible for continual service improvement, incident, problem and change management for various enterprise level solutions.
- Collaborative approach to managing products throughout their life cycle, from concept to end of life.
- Help to develop project plans and work as a team to lead and implement highly available solutions.
- Provide guidance, assistance and training for internal staff.
- Help support all aspects of Shannex's IT environment.
- Identify and track best practices, trends and advances in the information technology field for potential application within Shannex.
- Work as the liaison between vendors and management/staff
- Maintains licenses for systems supported by infrastructure dept.
- Supports all aspects of Shannex's IT infrastructure.
- Ensure customer safety by following and applying all standard operational procedures, safe work practices and training provided.
- Valid driver's license and a willingness and ability to travel when required.
- Willingness and ability to work some evenings and weekends when required.
- Participation for on-call rotation for emergency support, as well as occasional unscheduled on-call environment.
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
- Diploma, certificate or computer industry specific certifications.
- A university degree in the field of IT considered an asset and preferred.
- ITIL Foundations certified.
- A minimum 5 years' experience providing excellent technical support.
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Windows Server, O365, Share Point, MS Office, Outlook.
- Competence with IT technologies, including but not limited to, Citrix, camera systems, telephone systems.
- Experience in health care or health related industry considered an asset.
- Ability to use various communication strategies and resolve escalating issues.
- Ability to use independent judgement, creativity and integration of unrelated or variable information when searching for issue related solutions.
