The Technical Support Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring 24/7 lifecycle management, administration, troubleshooting, and production support of Tangerine's Windows and Linux server environments. This includes comprehensive responsibilities across hardware, operating systems, software, and server hardening.
The role encompasses the management of both physical and virtual servers (via VMware ESXi), as well as VDI infrastructure supporting core banking systems, contact center platforms, and production and development environments. The analyst is also responsible for ongoing vulnerability assessments, firmware updates, and patch management for Windows and Linux servers.
In addition, the analyst contributes to cloud server initiatives, Single Sign-On (SSO) administration, certificate authority management, end-user technical support, and support for business and web applications.
A specific area of focus for the successful candidate will be working on vulnerability mitigation and the secure configuration of Active Directory components and Windows servers. As such, a strong background in these areas is essential.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and hands-on experience to maintain a secure, reliable, and optimized IT operations environment.
Is this role right for you?
• Build, maintain, decommission and hardening of Windows server hardware and operating system based on corporate compliance and hardening guideline via the combination of SCCM, VSphere, Remote Desktop and SCOM for ongoing alerts
• Build, maintain, decommission and hardening of Linux server hardware and operating system based on corporate compliance and hardening guideline using Ansible Tower, Satellite, Puppet, Vsphere and Zabbix for ongoing alerts
• Build, configure, maintain, decommission and hardening of physical server infrastructure in an HPE shop, including standalone and blade systems.
• Provide deployment, administration, maintenance and technical support of VMware ESXi, SRM, VRA and Horizon platform to provide Tangerine Contact Center infrastructure in order to allow agents to work remotely and in the office seamlessly
• Provide ongoing vulnerability management in order to follow corporate compliance and vulnerability scan standard as well as ongoing security patch to mitigate vulnerability risk on all Windows and Linux servers including vendor appliances and VMware platform
• Provide ongoing Windows/Linux server hardening on new or existing servers based on server hardening guideline, maintain regular base image update, ongoing hardening for any new compliance requirement and daily monitoring in order to meet or exceed Security Risk Index level
• Maintain servers in both Tangerine data center locations as primary and secondary site in order to restore core banking services including all banking systems and contact centers uptime to ensure Windows/Linux Server disaster recovery and contingency plans to assure rapid recovery of systems in the event of an emergency of disaster
• Participate annual Disaster Recovery exercise and making sure servers located in both primary and secondary datacenter are ready in DR scenario
• Provide support and transition from on-prem server environment to Cloud base environment including GCP, AWS and MS Azure
• Administration and maintenance for all internal services that require Single-Sign-On (SSO)
• Administration and maintenance of certificate authority to handle and renew all production certificates
• Evaluate and decision making for net new server hardware, server replacement and for ongoing support maintenance
• Actively participate in the evaluation and selection process for new server hardware and technologies, as well as Windows and Linux server infrastructure technologies
• Required to be available outside normal business hours
• Required to carry mobile device to handle 7x24 support issues
• Other duties as assigned
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
• University or College Degree
• 3+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience in system administration supporting a large scale, mission critical enterprise infrastructure
• Working knowledge and hands-on working experience of Microsoft System Center, Red Hat and VMware suite of products.
• Strong knowledge of HP server hardware (NIC, RAID, SCSI) including HP OneView and iLo, experience with HP blade system management preferred.
• Hands-on knowledge of authentication products for both Linux and Windows Server environments, Microsoft Active Directory and Red Hat IDM.
• In- depth knowledge of and working experience with related protocols (TCP/IP, SMTP, HTTP, SFTP, TELNET, DNS, DHCP and SNMP etc.)
• Working knowledge of routing, VPN, firewall and system security
• Solid troubleshooting abilities, both proactive and reactive
• Demonstrated excellence in documenting complex enterprise level systems and procedures
• Able to proactively share and communicate complex technical and procedural information
• Logical thinker, step oriented problem solving
• Good verbal and written communications, including presentation skills
• Detailed-oriented and be able to effectively prioritize his/her efforts, follow-up to ensure all aspects of the engagement are addressed, and escalate issues appropriately
• Proactive and results-oriented with good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure and focus on multiple projects concurrently
• You are hands-on, willing to dive in and take charge, identifying and tackling key issues
• Strong team player who is confident and challenged in a fast-paced environment supporting a wide range of technologies
