We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer with strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SOAP services, MQ integration, enterprise integration, and Unix-based scripting. This role is critical to modernizing legacy systems and ensuring robust backend service delivery. The ideal candidate will have knowledge on writing complex queries and stored procedures, and be proficient in scripting languages such as Shell, Korn Shell, AWK, and Perl. The candidate should also have knowledge of application support and be willing to provide application support as part of their responsibilities. Additionally, the candidate should have knowledge of RedHat and Solaris operating systems.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Lead the modernization of enterprise applications by upgrading Java and Spring frameworks to the latest standards.
  • Design and implement robust backend services using REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Manage end-to-end deployment processes across IST, UAT, and Production environments.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues to ensure system stability and performance
  • Write and optimize complex queries and stored procedures.
  • Develop and maintain Unix/Linux scripts using Shell, Korn Shell, AWK, and Perl to support automation and system operations.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline CI/CD processes using Jenkins and Git.
  • Support application deployments and configurations on WebSphere and Liberty servers.
  • Provide hands-on application support, ensuring system stability and performance.
  • Operate confidently in RedHat and Solaris environments, applying OS-level knowledge to troubleshoot and optimize applications.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of legacy JSF-based UI components where needed.
  • Be part of a collaborative team that values clean code, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • 8+ years of experience in software development and enterprise integration
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Solid experience in Java (8 and 17) and Spring Framework, including Spring Boot
  • A strong grasp of RESTful and SOAP web services and how to build scalable APIs
  • The ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux scripting, including Shell, Korn Shell, AWK, and Perl
  • Familiarity with RedHat and Solaris operating systems
  • Experience working with WebSphere and Liberty application servers
  • Hands-on knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Git
  • Exposure to JSF and legacy UI technologies
  • A proactive mindset for application support, with a willingness to troubleshoot and resolve production issues
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude
  • Hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and managing applications on WebSphere/Liberty servers in enterprise environments
  • Strong understanding of Spring Security, JWT, OAuth2, and implementing authentication/authorization mechanisms to protect APIs and data
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience using JIRA for project tracking and collaboration

Nice to have skills:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, Azure).
  • Strong knowledge of microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
