Salary:
NS28 of the RNUNL Salary Scales, $38.62 - $48.10 per hour plus the applicable Labrador Allowance when working on Med-Surg;
NS31 of the RNUNL Salary Scales, $42.63 - $52.69 per hour plus the applicable Labrador Allowance when working in Surgical Services;
Financial incentives may be available and can be combined including:

About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to work as an active member of the nursing team to provide a high standard of care to patients of the Labrador Health Centre. The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining professional and organizational standards and practice in accordance with the LGH Model of Nursing Clinical Practice and reports to the Manager of Patient Services. The areas of work for this float position will be Med-Surg and Surgical Services.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved/recognized school of nursing program is required;
- Current and continuing practicing licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL) is required;
- Surgical Services Education Program or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer);
- Successful completion of NRP, CTAS, ACLS, TNCC and Medevac courses or willingness to complete (within timeframe designated by employer);
- Breastfeeding education/course;
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (CPR);
- The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Screening;
Duties: (Included but not limited to)
- Organizing, planning, implementing and evaluating the plan of care for assigned clients including but not limited to: medical-surgical, obstetrics (pre-natal, labour and delivery, post-partum), long term care, special care, mental health/addictions and pediatrics, in both an inpatient and a surgical setting;
- Participating in the auditing process as required;
- Documenting as per professional and organizational standards;
- Administering medication and participates in Medication Reconciliation;
- Participating in the orientation, mentorship and perceptoring of staff;
- Representing nursing on various committees as required;
- Participating in quality assurance initiatives as requested/required;
- Practice independently according to professional and organizational standards;
- Acting as a liaison between the client and other healthcare providers;
- Other related duties as required;
