The Opportunity We are currently seeking a Senior Procurement Analyst to join our Commercial team in St. John's, NL.This is a permanent position, working a Monday to Friday schedule in the St. John's office. As a Senior Procurement Analyst, you will execute the procurement of materials, equipment and services at the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) possible while incorporating Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices.Additionally, in this position you will:
- Ensure that all procurement activities are carried out in a timely and financially responsible manner, to best meet organizational objectives in compliance with corporate policies.
- Conduct complex negotiations to secure favorable terms, minimize risks, and generate the best value for the Company. Advance knowledge around various contract modalities such as EPC, EPCM, Unit Price, Lump sum, Cost Reimbursable and Time & Material.
- Analyze data, market trends, supplier capabilities, and contractual requirements to identify trends and provide actionable insights and procurement decisions for the assigned categories and contracts.
- Apply analytical thinking to run commercial analysis of proposals, including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis, productivity analysis and other cost modeling including price baseline and benchmarking to support Procurement recommendations to control costs and optimize spend.
- Lead strategic and contract management activities including changes orders, claims, back charges and penalties, new prices, dispute handling and resolution with input from technical area.
- Manage time efficiently to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
About You Education:
- A College Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.Certification or equivalent in Supply Chain or Project Management (i.e. SCMP, PMP) is an asset.
- Certification and/or knowledge of the premises stated on Construction Industry Institute (CII), Construction Management Association of America (CMAA), and Project Management Institute (PMBOK_PMI) is an asset.
- A minimum of 5 years' of procurement experience.Mining, petrochemical or heavy manufacturing industry experience is preferred.
- Strong technical skills in strategic procurement and contracting.
- Experince with SAP is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of cost analysis and data analytics.
- Strong organizational skills, communication skills and excellent customer srevice-driven mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
