This role, based at our facility in Hackett's Cove, is a key part of our Operations team, responsible for scheduling and co-ordinating products through the production cycle. The role co-ordinates production plans to ensure materials are provided according to schedules. The successful candidate will be someone who is willing and able to work under pressure, prioritize effectively and communicate in a calm manner, able to navigate obstacles as well as conflicting priorities when they arise.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to translate demand forecasts into production requirements;
  • Work closely with supply chain teams to ensure material availability aligns with production schedules;
  • Analyze inventory levels and implement strategies to optimize stock while minimizing carrying costs;
  • Identify potential supply chain disruptions and work with supply chain and engineering teams to develop contingency plans;
  • Maintain control of raw material;
  • Prepare weekly Material Shortage Reports;
  • Process Assembly work orders based on priorities set by the Head of Operations;
  • Review WIP and stock to apply deviations and changes from Engineering to ensure configuration records are accurate;
  • Control Engineering changes to equipment through the Release process
  • Process requests from Research/Development for fab and/or assemblies i.e. checking stock levels and issuing appropriate work orders;
  • Process and control Miscellaneous Spares Orders to meet shipping schedules;
  • Review of materials and components for obsolescence;
  • Process intercompany orders for manufactured goods;
  • Assists IT specialist to monitor the accuracy and function of the ERP system. Perform system testing and participate in problem solving to ensure data integrity.
Qualifications

Applicants should have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing operations, or supply chain management;
  • Previous inventory management experience would be an considered an asset;
  • In-depth knowledge of an MRP system, ideally Syspro;
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data and identify trends;
  • Microsoft Excel competency to intermediate level;
  • Proven excellent organizational and time-management skills;
  • Proven experience building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders;
  • The ability to work within a team as well as ability to work independently;
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels;
  • Excellent organizational abilities;
  • Be accountable for their actions;
  • Operate with integrity;
  • Understand the customer's view;
  • A continuous improvement mindset by challenging the status quo and embraces change;
  • Safety as a priority.
