Halifax Stanfield is Atlantic Canada's principal full-service airport, providing passengers and cargo clients with direct access to markets across Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean Basin, Europe, and Asia. Halifax Stanfield offers Canada Customs services on a 24-hour, seven-days-a-week basis and is the only airport in Atlantic Canada with U.S. preclearance and International to Domestic processing facilities. The airport is a significant economic generator, contributing $4.2 billion annually to the provincial economy. In 2024, Halifax Stanfield served 4 million passengers and processed nearly 26,000 metric tonnes of cargo. A recognized innovator in the global airport industry, Halifax Stanfield was the first airport in North America to offer a self-service baggage drop system for all passengers and is consistently ranked among the best airports in the world.
ROLE PROFILE:
Reporting to the Manager, Oracle Business Solutions, the successful candidate will work as an active member of the Planning & Process Development section within the Finance Department.
Duties are mostly related to business initiatives in Oracle, but not limited to:
- Assisting with business process documentation, data gathering and analysis, training materials, and change management efforts tied to Oracle updates and initiatives
- Support HIAA's on-going projects through process development, data validation and mapping review, as well as future report creation and testing within Oracle, including ERP, HCM and EPM
- Coordinating quarterly Oracle Cloud updates, including tracking release schedules, facilitating feature review and testing cycles, and documenting changes and reviewing the updated user guides, if required
- Supporting internal adoption of Oracle Redwood UI by organizing and facilitating testing, training sessions and awareness communications across departments
- Gathering user feedback to improve system usability and enhance the effectiveness of internal documentation
- Performing ad hoc assignments as needed
This opportunity is ideal for a self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills who is interested in the aviation/transportation industry, values the importance of teamwork and demonstrates excellent business acumen and ability to learn new technologies. You must be proficient with MS Office software with a particular focus on MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint. Experience in MS SharePoint would be considered an asset. You should be comfortable learning and using business software applications (i.e. Oracle Cloud Applications). Preference will be given to students enrolled in their last two years of Commerce or Management Information System degree program. Previous experience working in an office environment would be an asset.
Details:
- Pay Rate $21.00 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
- Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week
- Commencing September 8, 2025 and ending December 19, 2025 (16 weeks)
- Free airport parking for the duration of employment, or other arrangements can be made if the successful candidate needs support on transportation
