A TYPICAL WEEK:
Working as part of our dedicated Lending Services team, the Manager is responsible for the adjudication of commercial, retail and mortgage loan applications from credit unions and League Savings and Mortgage, that are over approval limits and/or represent exceptions to loan policies.
This key role also provides input and insight on credit decisions to the underwriter or recommends approval, decline, or amendments to Management and the Executive Credit Committee. Is responsible for reviewing the annual loan reviews conducted by credit unions, providing feedback, and recommending appropriate action. Conducts annual review sign off for loans under administration in Atlantic Central's syndication portfolio
·Provides subject matter input in the development and documentation of sound commercial lending practices consistent with policy, industry standards, and customer service expectations, collaborating with other departments to develop tools and procedures that support Credit Unions in the effective delivery of credit solutions.
·Coaches and mentors credit union lending personnel in the standards of sound business practice as they relate to credit and provides guidance and advice regarding specialized loan programs, loan structure or lending alternatives, and credit criteria.
·Provides leadership and coaching to the credit unions on the commercial loan submission process where required.
·Identifies skills/knowledge gaps in credit union lenders, determines training needs and recommends, delivers and/or coordinates the delivery of necessary training. Develops and delivers, in coordination with the Lending Services team, commercial lending seminars, workshops and conferences for Atlantic Canada credit unions.
·Advocates with the Regulator on behalf of credit unions to help promote loan growth in an efficient and timely manner while mitigating risk to the credit union and its depositors.
·Provides back-up to the other Atlantic Central Managers, Lending Service as required.
LOCATION:
The position offers the flexibility of working from home and is required to be located in the Maritimes to align with our business development focus.
TRAVEL, EVENING AND WEEKEND WORK:
This position requires occasional evening and weekend work.
As the ideal candidate you will have successfully completed a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, or a related discipline plus have a minimum of 9 years lending experience (commercial, personal, and mortgages); including 3 years supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
