Title:Senior Manager - Relief Operations

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee Relief operational and readiness activities, ensuring strategic alignment, supervising team members, setting priorities, and ensuring efficient task completion
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community partners, to enhance program effectiveness and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Monitor program performance, analyze data, prepare impact reports, and identify improvements for continuous enhancement.
  • Play a key role in emergency response operations, providing leadership and support during crises, and ensuring effective mobilization and utilization of resources.
  • Ensure financial compliance, including budget planning, monitoring, and reporting, while developing proposals and funding applications to secure resources and innovate services.
  • Set objectives, establish workplans, monitor progress, resolve conflicts, coach, analyze performance, address challenges, and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and service quality, while facilitating collaboration and continuous improvement.

What we are looking for:

  • Qualifications include a minimum of 6 years of experience and a 3-year college diploma or university degree.
  • Understanding of interconnections between processes and business units to provide effective leadership.
  • Leadership and team management skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and inspire, motivate and engage teams to achieve program objectives.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite), data analysis tools, etc.
  • Ability to identify complex, problems, conduct extensive analysis in unfamiliar areas, predict outcomes, and develop innovative, collaborative solutions by balancing technical inputs with strategic objectives.
  • Communication and influence skills to synthesize diverse and sometimes conflicting perspective and find mutually beneficial solutions, often in sensitive or complex situations
  • Experience in budget management, resource allocation, and financial oversight.
  • Strong background in stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of program/service delivery models, performance metrics, and impact evaluation.
  • Contribute to team performance objectives, establish workplans, monitor performance, resolve conflict, and provide coaching.
  • Knowledge of compliance, regulations, and risk management in the relevant industry.
  • Ability to implement process improvements and optimize service delivery.
  • Fluency in English is required; French is an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Will be working primarily in an office environment when not deployed to an emergency response operation.
  • Some domestic and local travel in generally safe environments.In local response in province and territory lead will deploy on site where possible and required. In large scale emergency where staff numbers are compromised, or additional resources are required provide disaster relief and/or emergency field operational support on site.
  • Some travel by vehicle may be required.A valid provincial driver ' s license is required.
  • All roles within the Humanitarian Services (HS) team contribute to emergency response efforts directly or indirectly.
  • All CRC roles are required to adapt work and priorities to support emergency response efforts, be present in person as required to support service delivery and deploy to emergency responses when appropriate and/or required (personnel availability and request for exceptions will be discussed with line management).
  • For CRC roles that are assigned a function in the Emergency Relief operational structure (in field and virtual), personnel may be required to be part of an on-call roster and be available for scheduled on-call work
  • As we work with and support people (managers, colleagues, beneficiaries/customers, volunteers, donors and external partners) and communities in Canada and around the world, applicants whose first language is not English may be required to perform the responsibilities of the role in English.
