(ASD-W) - Acting Community Schools Coordinator - Operations - Term until June 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension.

Position: Acting Community School Coordinator - Operations

Employment Type: Term until June 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension.

Union: Public Service Alliance of Canada Union (PSAC)

Salary: SBO 3 ($1799-$2823 bi-weekly)

Office Location: Office of the Superintendent at the Fredericton Education Centre

The successful applicant will be responsible for the supervision of 1 Community Schools Coordinators-Operations in the Anglophone West School District. Primary focus of this position is on school/district wide operational duties pertaining to grant writing, food security, and recreational concept development. Other responsibilities include developing and managing work plans that align with the District Education Plan to support educational initiatives of the District.

This position reports to the Director of Finance and Administration on best practices and new partnerships developed so that the maintenance and growth of the community-based activities can be monitored at the District level.

The ideal candidate is creative, with out-of-the-box thinking skills to create new solutions to old problems, strategic and deliberate in planning and creating new processes, takes initiative to seek solutions, and possess strong negotiation and communication skills to match program needs with funding and processes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Working with School Administrations and key partners, develop long-term strategic plans for the local community and business involvement with the schools/District with a primary focus on Food Security and long-term food services agreements for all schools in Anglophone West School District
• Supporting School Administrations with recreational/community-based concept development and securing supporting funding for projects
• Investigating potential processes to further the District's goals of operational program development (scope of work consultation, grant writing, and consultations with community groups and businesses)
• Overseeing the Brightly application (internal community use of schools scheduling program) by ensuring that barriers and challenges that restrict community use of schools are mitigated
• Managing legal agreements including community use of schools as well as other District initiatives
• Promoting and coordinating partnerships that support schools in providing a quality inclusive environment for students
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and Administration and the Superintendent

Qualifications:
• Work at this level requires knowledge normally gained through the equivalent of a University Degree in a non-technical area, supplemented by a minimum of three (3) years of related work experience.
• Typical work at this level is done within well-defined, somewhat diversified procedures, with many precedents covering most situations and/or readily available assistance.

Asset Qualifications:
• Demonstrate excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and communication skills – spoken (personable), written, and digitally literate
• Ability to identify and catalog the needs of the District and available community resources
• Safe Food Handling Certification, knowledge of Food Premises Licensing, knowledge of commercial cafeteria equipment
• Knowledge/experience with school food program operations
• Experience in community engagement and proven ability to take initiative
• Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment with the District Leadership and other key stakeholders
• Ability to write grant proposals and manage significant budgets
• Strong computer skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office Operations
• Supervision experience/training of people/programs
• Hours of work must be flexible, responding to the needs of the District and school communities, and may involve some evening and weekend work
• Good written, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
• Written and spoken competency in English is required

Salary: In accordance with the Public Service Alliance of Canada Union (PSAC), School Business Office 3 based on a minimum of 36.25 hrs/wk.
