Salary: $2,725.00 to $3,293.00 bi-weekly
Reporting to the Director of Academic Planning and Evaluation, the Learning Design Consultant (LDC) is responsible for assisting in the development and review of curriculum and assessments for a new series of NBCC programs and online courses. They provide support, facilitation, and guidance in the area of curriculum and competency-based evaluation and provide assistance with the creation of curriculum-related standards, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Working in conjunction with Learning Design Consultants to compare existing NBCC programs against a competency framework, map curriculum, and develop curriculum for new programs.
Ensure that all curriculum development reflect the College's policies and standards.
Provide expert advice and guidance to inform the development of curriculum and evaluations.
Ensure curriculum meets all academic quality standards, including a focus on equity, accessibility, and cultural sensitivity.
Collaborate effectively with all key stakeholders including, but not limited to academic deans, program managers, academic chairs, faculty, industry, business, government, and other post-secondary institutions both inside and outside the province.
Provide analysis in the development of program proposals to help ensure quality in program design and curriculum development.
Ensure that curriculum development is carried out in an efficient manner while tracking and reporting on established timelines.
Provide consultation and facilitation to curriculum development and review teams and to subject matter experts engaged in curriculum development.
Support, facilitate, and provide advice and guidance to working groups.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in education or other related field with recent and related experience, including experience in developing curriculum, instructional design materials and/or on-line course development.
Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum design principles and experience developing curriculum, preferably in a fast-paced and/or post-secondary environment.
Professional Skills:
Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills, analytical ability, and innovative thinking.
High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, learning management systems, and curriculum management systems.
Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
Self-motivated, service and results oriented.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, independently and within a team.
A desire for continuous learning and growth.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Candidates must possess a valid Driver's License as travel will be required.
Assets:
- Demonstrated experience with prior learning assessment or competency-based training would be considered an asset.
- Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working in a post-secondary environment.
Candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet these qualifications on their resumes.
Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.

This position is a unionized position where the terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NBUPPE - Administrative and Program Support Services, Education Consultation and Development and Information Technology Collective Agreement for the College.
