Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Land Information Infrastructure Secretariat as an Open Data Analyst.
Reporting to the Manager of Land Information Infrastructure Secretariat, the successful candidate will be responsible to manage and support the daily operations of the GNB Open Data portal, supporting the user community and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the continued growth of the NB Open Data Program.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Onboard provincial, municipal, and federal data while ensuring that all data meets publishing and integrity requirements.
- Grow the Open Data program by identifying relevant datasets and collaborating with Departments and Agencies to encourage participation in the sharing of data.
- Coordinate with Finance and Treasury Board on the Open Data policy.
- Support business partners by orientating, training, and coaching them on the use of the Open Data platform to publish and update data.
- Manage dataset additions, updates, translations, ensuring the data is clean, accurate and consistent.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on metrics to measure the success of the Open Data Portal.
- Create new relevant data sets, visualizations and views.
- Liaise with software provider for support, updates and issue resolution.
- Provide support to the user community.
- Participate in various Open Data working groups and communities across Canada.
- Promote the use of open data through communication and outreach activities.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
A university degree with specialization in data science/analysis, business administration, information technology or a related field of study and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience OR a post-secondary diploma with specialization in data science/analysis, business administration, information technology or a related field of study and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience. Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered, or the required years of experience may be increased.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference may be given to candidates that possess one or more of the following asset qualifications:
- Proficiency in data management tools and technologies
- Experience with data formats (e.g. CSV, JSON, XML, XLSX)
- Knowledge of data quality standards and best practices
- Familiarity with open data platforms and portals
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills supported by excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Action oriented, self-motivated and delivery focused
