The Opportunity
As a valued member of our Operations Team, you will be responsible for:
- Installing and maintaining energized and de-energized power lines at various voltages;
- Interpreting single-line drawings and specifications;
- Inspecting and maintaining tools, equipment, and vehicles used to carry out line work;
- Performing other duties related to this position.
Your qualifications include:
- A Powerline Technician Operating Red Seal Certificate;
- A valid Class 3 motor vehicle driver's license with air brake endorsement.
- Powerline Technician Red Seal candidates who do not possess a valid class 3 motor vehicle drivers' license with air brake endorsement may be considered if they are able to obtain this certification prior to starting work or as a condition of employment.
- You have demonstrated an excellent knowledge and solid understanding of utility safety procedures, standards and work methods.
- You consistently display initiative and productivity in your job duties.
- You must possess strong computer skills and be able to execute technical tasks with precise attention to detail.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills are essential to the position.
- You are a highly motivated team player with a strong commitment to safety and customer service, an excellent work ethic, and effective interpersonal and communication skills.
There is a residency requirement for this position, whereby your primary residence must be within 40 km of the Clarenville office.
Compensation is as per the current Collective Agreement. Applications will require a detailed resume and copy of your red seal certificate.
PLT Apprentices may be considered. Recent experience working in the trade is considered an asset.
