Salary Range: $2,454.00 to $3,776.00 bi-weekly
As part of the School of Engineering Technologies and reporting to the Academic Chair, the Instructor is responsible for planning and preparing instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.
Specific instructional areas may include, but are not limited to:
Materials Science
Industrial Welding Applications
Metalworking Principles and Practice
Welding Principles
Canadian Codes and Specifications
Weld Quality Fundamentals
Other related subjects as required
The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.
Education and Experience:
Diploma or Degree in Welding Technology.
The successful candidate must possess a CSA W 178.2 - Level 1 or Level 2 Welding Inspector Certificate.
Demonstrated experience working in Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control.
Preference given to candidates with a valid Red Seal in the trades of Steel Fabrication, Welder/Fitter, or Welder and related and recent work experience at the Journeyperson's level.

Assets:
Eligibility to be certified through NBSCETT.
Minimum of three years of related and recent work experience.
Experience working in a post-secondary environment.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
