APEX is currently accepting applications for an Assembler position to join our Aerospace Component Manufacturing Group. The primary role of this position is to assemble, fit, install and fastens prefabricated parts, components and hardware to form finished products using hand, power tools and other equipment. Assemblers inspect finished products and follow established procedures to ensure customer specifications are met and quality standards are maintained. Some weekend and/or overtime may be required.
- Riveting, drilling and countersinking to position and fasten components and hardware, bearing staking, and bushing installation
- Application of adhesives and sealants to customer requirements
- Gathering hardware and tools
- Reading technical information (blueprints, internal process routing sheets)
- Deburring, sealing and touching up paint and primer
- Other duties as assigned to meet operational requirements
- Ability to read and interpret technical information (blueprints, specs, drawings)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Working knowledge of hand tools (hammer, drill, tape measure, caliper, grinder)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Know and abide by all company rules, policies, procedures and practices
- Work safely and maintain a clean and organized work area
- Share knowledge, identify and communicate training needs or areas of potential improvement
- Maintain production schedules following established procedures
- Cooperative, willing to share knowledge and/or mentor others
- Identify & communicate areas of potential improvement (cost savings, increased productivity or efficiency)
- Working knowledge of assembling equipment (air riveter, impact gun, arbor/hydraulic press, grinder, clecos)
- Experience in assembly
