APEX is currently accepting applications for a Shipping/Receiving Supervisor to join our Aerospace Component Manufacturing Group. This position will direct and coordinate all activities of the Shipping & Receiving department. This position will also work with the Process Engineering team to plan and organize the flow of parts while maximizing resources and ensuring quality and efficiency. Some weekends and/or overtime may be required.
- Works with the Group Manager and Planning/Scheduling group to plan, organize and schedule.
- Implements changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiencies.
- Assists other Supervisors and staff with the resolution of problems.
- Train, direct, coach, and motivates staff to achieve production objectives.
- Identify and document opportunities for continuous improvements of Cost, Quality and Delivery.
- Implement and maintain visual factory tools.
- Communicate with other Supervisors, to coordinate work activities.
- Work with Process Planners to estimate work requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Demonstrates effective decision-making and product knowledge.
- Promotes good morale and productivity.
- Ability to perform quality control inspections.
- As necessary maintain productivity by being involved with various operations and production requirements.
- Assuring staff compliance to Health and Safety Protocols.
- Minimum grade 12, GED, technical school training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrate ability to function in a team-based work environment.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills.
- Computer literate (experience in Syspro would be an asset).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Become familiar with ASI 9100 procedures.
- Able to comprehend and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
- Mechanical aptitude required.
- Work well independently and in a team environment and be results-orientated.
- Ability to read, and interpret technical information (i.e. drawings, specifications).
- Must be cooperative, willing to share knowledge, mentor others and take on additional responsibilities as required.
