Duration: June 2025 to November 2025
Salary Range: $28.33 to 34.23 per hour, based on experience and level of post-secondary education.
The IT Tier II Technician is responsible for resolving user issues and providing desktop support either remotely or in person; resolution for single user break / fix issues related to desktop hardware and software installation and/or configuration. Working as part of a team, they are involved in resolving multi-user issues as required.
- Provide excellent customer service by resolving single user break / fix issues related to desktop hardware and software installation and/or configuration.
- Resolve user issues and provide desktop support either remotely using remote control tools or in person. Communicate resolution information to the user.
- Update incident management system with all details of their investigation and what they have attempted to do to resolve the issue.
- Request external support as required, e.g. from software or hardware manufacturers responsible for the configuration and imaging of hardware products
- Adhere to all service management best practices adopted by the Information Solutions group
- Provide Desktop support and deployment including refresh, new employee set up and imaging and program requirements (labs etc.)
- Collect inventory/asset information for all NBCC devices
- Adhere to all service management best practices adopted by the Information Solutions group (ex ITIL - Best Practices) as well as follow established processes and procedures.
- Any other related duties as assigned by Manager
Education & Experience:
- Diploma from a two year information technology program and 2 years of related work experience in software and a variety of computer hardware
- Certifications related to endpoints support would be considered an asset.
- Strong relationship building, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be raised.
