Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, this role's key responsibility is to lead a team of Analysts/Accident Benefits advisors, modeling quality service and encouraging your team to reach their full potential. As Team Manager you'll provide leadership through coaching and timely feedback as their primary support and mentor for questions relating to AB Section B processes and procedures. You'll also lead weekly huddles and provide operational oversight, legislative oversight and oversight of payments.

Make an Impact:?
- Lead a team that handles Accident Benefits claims
- Provide ongoing feedback on team and individual objectives; identify team members with leadership potential to facilitate development opportunities
- Ensure Analysts acquire and improve relevant competencies through coaching; participate in their development plans and conduct thorough one-on-one reviews
- Handle and resolve escalated client calls and complaints to meet or exceed their needs while balancing the objectives of organization; participate in identifying the root causes and trends of client complaints
- Supervise Accident Benefits advisors who support clients; promote clear treatment plans and recovery processes while maintaining compliance
- Monitor, understand and be accountable for the business results of the unit including core, retention and financial results
- Participate in the recruitment process to ensure quality candidates with diverse skills and experiences
Experience Growth:?
- Remain current in case law, legislated regulatory changes and recent settlements which impact accident benefits claims
- Contribute to cross-functional or enterprise initiatives as an organizational or subject matter expert to identify risk or provide guidance for complex situations (e.g., Human Resources, Recruitment, Technology, Finance, Risk Management)
- Participate in networking activities, maintain connections within the industry and local insurance market to stay abreast of leading industry trends
- Lead monthly Leadership meetings, monthly one-on-one meetings with advisor, quarterly meetings and yearly reviews

What You Need to Succeed
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in Accident Benefit Claims Services along with progressively more responsibilities
- A genuine interest in fostering long-term learning or development in others
- Proficient in the use of effective questioning techniques, such as open-ended and closed questions coupled with good listening and probing techniques
- Demonstrated ability to take action to create an opportunity or avoid future crisis
- Experience ensuring file quality standards and file handling protocols are followed
- Proven decision-making ability based on a mixture of analysis, experience and judgment
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and interact successfully with internal and external clients
- Can quickly recognize discrepancies and/or gaps in data and reports; understands the need for accuracy and hard deadlines
- Proven ability to negotiate win/win outcomes when reasonably possible
- Demonstrated letter-writing skills that are clear, professional and convey appropriate types and amounts of information
- Undergraduate degree would be an asset
- Can effectively interpret the standard auto policy
- Can effectively interpret medical documents with advanced knowledge of human anatomy
