Position function: We are looking for two outgoing students who wish to be mentored in the recreation departments of Mountain Lea Lodge and The Meadows ARC. These positions entail assisting the Recreation Aides and Recreation Programmers to facilitate summer recreational activities for residents such as walking, going for rides on our "adult sized" tricycle, outings to community events, bus rides, outdoor games, therapeutic garden- related programs as well as regular indoor programs such as church services, movie nights, baking, bingo and one on one time to meet individual resident interests. The student positions report to the Recreation Manager.

Requires the ability to work in environments that may have plants and animals as well as working outside. Must be in good mental and physical health and able to bend, lift, and stretch as required for job performance. The MMCG provides services for adults who may have physical limitations, intellectual disabilities, mental health concerns or dementia who, from time to time when upset, may exhibit behaviors.

Qualifications: Attending post-secondary education in Recreation, Community Development, Education or related field.

Preferred: Certifications: First Aid/CPR, Musical ability an asset, Experience in garden therapy or willingness to learn.
