The New Brunswick Legal Aid Services Commission (NBLASC) is seeking an individual to join the Public Trustee Branch in Fredericton as a Financial Trust Technician.
Who we are:
Public Trustee Services protects the financial and personal interests of adults who need support due to a mental or physical incapacity, administers the estates of deceased and missing persons, protects the financial interests of children, and the legal interests of incompetent persons. We advocate for our client and act in their best interests by collaboratively working as a team and with stakeholders.
What you will do:
As a Financial Trust Technician, reporting to the Senior Trust Officer, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepare initial correspondences to redirect income and assets (Canada Revenue Agency, Service Canada, Financial Institutions) to Public Trustee Services and identify any debts obligations (Equifax, etc.);
Analyze Comfort and Clothing accounts for those in Long Term Care and apply for any available benefits that your clients might be entitled to;
Prepare insurance submissions;
Assist with audits including annual Secure Room inventory and review of financial schedules;
Complete Annual Financial Subsidies for Long Term Care and Financial Position Analysis;
Review and approve Accounts Payable invoices;
Respond to general inquiries from staff and stakeholders and make referrals to other agencies where appropriate;
Analysis and preparation of estate self-referrals;
Charging Annual Administrative fees for existing clients
Other related projects and duties as assigned.
Need to have (Essential qualifications and skills):
· Completion of a 1 year post-secondary training in a related field;
· A minimum of 3 years of related experience;
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Nice to have (Asset qualifications)
Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate:
• Experience with Long Term Care processes
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Wage:
Salary and benefits will be commensurate with skill level and experience:
$1,625- $1,971 biweekly - NBLASC CUPE Admin 1 pay scale
