As the Director of Business Management, the purpose is to manage a team that provides comprehensive reporting, oversight, and planning for the Canadian Banking CIO technology costs, including team and project budgets. This leader will have and create and in-depth understanding of how the total Canadian Banking engineering costs are allocated and changes throughout the year. This role ensures effective financial management across the teams delivering on strategic outcomes for Canadian Banking initiatives. The role will cover 2 main functions


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Reviews current budget and forecast with VP, SVP & IT Finance Lead
• Ensures requests for expenses is within plan (e.g., training, travel, etc.)
• Reviews and monitors resources billing as OPEX for reasonability and accuracy
• Tracks changes in resources billing month over month
• Work with leadership to create plan to maintain budget actuals to forecast
• Reviews business case and ensures ongoing costs are tracked and planned when moving from OP to transit
• Partner with IT Finance teams to understand and report on Canadian Banking Technology costs Direct Expenses to the business. What are they and the costs Tech Allocations broken down by GTB, RTB and Recursive
• Review TOC with leaders to understand changes and summarize the details provide insights on where charges are originating along with allocations.
• Work across the enterprise to gather required details to create reporting and clarity.
• Review and identify base of FTE CAP numbers and maintain updated information and tracking of vacancies and status. Track backfill requests, approvals and fulfillment. Include identifying long outstanding approved positions
• Management of contractor conversions including benefits planned and achieved in partnership with EPMO and finance including tracking conversion progress against plan and update reporting
• Partners with the Project Management Office for alignment on plans and outcomes.
• Track the outcomes delivered by each domain and benefits achieved
• Consolidate domain reporting of financials and capacity demand
• Partners with IT Finance team to support and reflect the Total Cost of Ownership for each domain.
• Supports the Engineering Lead for the domain to understand the costs and track cost reductions or increases along with understand of change
• Foster a growth mindset, continuous learning environment focused on created valuable outcomes to the Bank


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

• 7-8 years with 2-3 years in leadership roles
• Strong program management knowledge including plan development; scheduling methodology; reporting; risk assessment; cost/benefit analysis and alternatives identification; budgeting, financials and benefits management.
• Strong financial experience in managing both operating budgets and financials across large programs and large budgets
• Strong organization, data analysis and process management skills
• Highly skilled preparing and presenting executive materials
• Highly developed leadership and influencing capabilities and ability to effectively manage conflicts
• Team Oriented with passion to motivate based on value of outcomes
• Growth mindset – seeks opportunities for self-improvement and embraces feedback
• Resiliency – navigate high pressure situations with resilience and maintains a positive outlook
• In depth understanding and or experience of managing financials in a large highly regulated organization
• Demonstrated organizational, decision making and creative problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives under tight timelines – disciplined ability to prioritize
• Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization with a focus on value-added cross functional collaboration
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with track record of working directly with senior leadership levels
• Excellent presentations skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely to all levels of the organization
• Comfortable with tight deadlines
