The role:

Contribute to the success of Global High Value Payments Technology by ensuring the execution and delivery of the team's strategic objectives. All activities must comply with applicable regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

What will you do?

  • Lead engineering teams through planning, discovery, execution, and learning phases to deliver business value for Global Wire Payments.
  • Define and implement test automation strategies, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, execution speed, and reliability.
  • Integrate quality goals into CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of automated test scripts for functional, regression, performance, and integration testing.
  • Analyze test results, identify root causes, and drive timely resolution of issues.
  • Ensure the on-time delivery of high-quality software releases.
  • Manage resource allocation, project planning, and performance evaluations.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in test automation.
  • Champion the use of Generative AI tools to accelerate test case generation, code reviews, and automation development.
  • Monitor and communicate team and program-level risks and dependencies to value stream stakeholders.
  • Identify and address dysfunctions at both team and program levels.
  • Foster effective communication across teams through close collaboration with program-level peers.
  • Act as a change champion to drive structural and cultural shifts toward greater quality.
  • Establish and lead Communities of Practice (CoPs) within the program or portfolio.
  • Promote a customer-focused culture to strengthen client relationships and leverage broader organizational knowledge and systems.
  • Incorporate the Bank's risk appetite and culture into daily decision-making and activities.
  • Ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness in alignment with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles.
  • Maintain strong business controls to meet obligations related to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.


What do you need to succeed?

  • 4+ years of experience in leading technical teams in the capacity of people management
  • 7+ years of experience in a technical role in an Agile environment
  • Proven track record in delivering large scale multi-year projects/program
  • Proven track record of delivering Test automation for enterprise-wide transformation programs
  • Extensive experience in Test Automation using a variety of tools and environments
  • Ability to lead software development and quality assurance teams on tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different stakeholders with an open mindset
  • Ability to quickly adapt and build a deep technical knowledge of their team's deliverable and operating model
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset and be willing to lead by example
  • Strong hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java
  • Familiarity with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner)

Preferred:

  • Experience with Generative AI tools?(e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini) in test automation or software development workflows
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)?services and infrastructure
  • A recognized degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or related discipline
