Finance and Treasury Board seeks a highly motivated and creative professional to join the Employee Safety and Wellness team as a Workplace Health & Safety Specialist. Finance and Treasury Board is responsible for the strategic, policy and program framework with regards to attraction, recruitment and retention, leadership and employee development, and workplace health, safety and wellness. Enabling GNB to improve workplace health, safety and wellness is a key strategic priority.

WORKPLACE HEALTH & SAFETY SPECIALIST

Responsibilities:

  • identify opportunities for improving GNB's workplace safety environment, culture and practices
  • develop and implement programs, policies, and initiatives to achieve objectives
  • deliver presentations to communicate strategies and insights
  • work in close collaboration with government organizations to assist with systematic audits and assessments of improvement initiatives
  • administer OHS software system to support an improved safety management system
  • analyze data to extract meaningful insights and support informed decision-making
  • collaborate with teams to enhance system efficiency and reporting accuracy

Essential Qualifications: University degree in a related field and a minimum of five (5) years related work experience OR a two-year post-secondary program in a related field, and a minimum of seven (7) years related work experience.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. We may consider candidates at a junior level (with adjusted salary) who meet core qualifications but require development in some areas." We encourage all interested applicants to apply.

Asset Qualification: Preference may be given to candidates that possess:

  • An occupational health and safety certification or equivalent such as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).

Behavioural Competencies: Analytical Thinking, Initiative, Relationship/Network Building, Teamwork and Cooperation, Effective Interactive Communication, and Results Orientation.

Technical Competencies: Comprehensive knowledge of the legislative and regulatory framework for health and safety, industry standards and best practices. Demonstrated experience in the development and implementation of effective workplace health and safety programs.

Written and spoken competence in English is required for this position. Please state your language capability on your application.

Salary :

PB 05 - $65,936 to $92,092 per annum
