Opening Statement

The R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home is a Long-Term Care Home to 137 Residents and employs 250 staff in various Departments. Under the direction and supervision of the RN Charge Nurse &/or LPN, the Continuing Care Assistant (CCA), provides resident-focused, holistic care, within an interdisciplinary team consistent with the Mission, Vision, Values and philosophy of care of the RK Mac Donald Nursing Home

CORE COMPETENCIES: Resident centered focus; Communication; Conflict Management; Self & Community Awareness; Teamwork (fosters Teamwork)

Qualifications: Provincial certification in Continuing Care Assistant (CCA). Provincial CCA certification required for permanent employment. Registered member of the CCA Registry (Continuing Care Assistant Program - HANS). Certification in CPR, WHMIS, Food Handlers, Dementia/Alzheimer, Palliative care courses and gentle persuasion approach.

Hours of Work (subject to change) (Rotations include weekends) Night Shifts

• 2 Rotations LW/SW 9 pm - 7 am (10 hr. shift)
• 2 Rotations SW/LW 9 pm - 7 am (10 hr. shift)

Salary

$22.2259-24.0966 (experience as per Unifor contract pay scale) (Paid Breaks & 80 hrs. bi-weekly)
