Software Specialist - Various Levels

Key Responsibilities:

As a Software Specialist, you will provide expert technical knowledge in the support and maintenance of major, complex software systems. You will lead the investigation and resolution of application issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. This includes coordinating problem resolution with software vendors, hardware manufacturers, and internal personnel, escalating issues as necessary. You will work closely with business units and internal teams to understand, prioritize, and implement requested enhancements and issue resolutions. You will be an advocate for change management. Additionally, you will evaluate the performance of software systems and recommend improvements to increase operational effectiveness, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the Information Systems department.

You will also provide consultative guidance and serve as a project team member for software upgrades, replacements, and other initiatives. Your responsibilities will include detailed systems analysis and design, software development and coding, testing, documentation, installation and rollout, and ongoing support and maintenance of multiple applications across various platforms. You will be expected to document and share knowledge gained from project work to support team development and ensure long-term sustainability of supported technologies.

You are responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the company's Safety and Health Program and responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.

What We're Looking For:

  • You have excellent communication skills, solid analytical and organizational skills, and proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • You must have a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work independently or within a team environment.
  • A sound knowledge of computer applications including JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Cognos Planning Analytics, Microsoft PowerApps, DevOps, SharePoint and other ERP's, budgeting and forecasting tools, financial reporting systems, application development tools, database technologies, report generators, data warehouses, and cube technology is desired.

What You'll Need:

  • You have a university degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, such as training and experience in computer system design, development, implementation, enhancement, training and system support.
  • A minimum of 5 years progressive IT experience, with emphasis on high complexity multi-language programming and multiple platforms is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
