Salary Range: $49,402 - $61,751 per annum
YOUR FOCUS
Reporting to the Director, Classroom Technology Services, the Classroom Technology Support Lead Installer is responsible for the delivery and stewardship of academic, administrative educational learning technologies. This position supports of all UNB teaching & learning spaces and technical support services.
- Act as the primary technical installer for UNBF smart classroom, auditoriums and teaching spaces.
- Maintain an inventory of electronic and mechanical parts, components, hardware, and other stock.
- Assist with the research, design, purchasing, programming, documentation, maintenance, and support for classroom audio-visual and videoconferencing equipment.
- Document and track issues, troubleshoot processes, and identify solutions.
- Keep up to date with a tracking project system (Basecamp) classroom upgrades and new installations.
- Troubleshoot and problem-solve various classroom videoconferencing and audio-visual technologies through phone, email and in-person support.
- Act as escalation point of contact for classroom issues and equipment repairs by tracking needed outcomes.
- Maintain and refresh software images on classroom computers.
- May occasionally consult with departments who are looking to upgrade or install technology in non-classroom spaces.
- Consult on specific classroom accessibility needs with various stakeholders as needed.
- Consult and train faculty and students in emergency situations in any teaching space.
- Support software/firmware program issues in the teaching spaces on campus.
- Perform basic software/firmware installation work in teaching spaces.
- Consult with True Blue Crestron support for escalated issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Post Secondary Diploma in Information Technology or a related field.
- 3 years of experience in control system programming, audio-visual design, networking, or a related field.
Additional Strengths
- Infocomm CTS Certification is considered a strong asset.
- Basic Cestron Programming is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with operating systems and major software packages on Windows and Apple platforms.
- Familiarity with operating software such as Webcheckout, Basecamp, Footprints and Excel for tracking projects and inventory purposes.
- Mechanical aptitude and a hands-on skillset.
- An understanding of the fundamentals of electronics.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of enterprise TCP/IP topology and communications.
- Knowledge of educational pedagogy and methods related to classroom technology.
- Ability to prioritize and work independently with little or no supervision.
