The incumbent is directly responsible to a Control Centre Supervisor who will supervise their day to day activity. The Aircraft Log Controller (ALO) will report to the IMP Aerospace and Defence location near the Halifax International Airport.

• Maintain paper & computer based Aircraft Logs/Records/Customer Reporting Systems in accordance with the appropriate orders/instructions/procedures.
• Receive and safeguard aircraft logs on induction of aircraft.
• Review aircraft logs for completeness, accuracy and initiate required action(s) on such items as time expired equipment, modifications, special inspections and other instructions.
• Collect data, produce, complete and maintain all necessary reports and documentation.
• Assist company personnel and customer representative with areas related to aircraft logs.
• Assist in the preparation of procedures and directives related to the functions of the Log Control Section.
• Initiate documentation and co-ordinate with appropriate outside agencies for the processing of oil samples, hydraulic samples, etc.
• Liaise with Customer Log Control Section on matters related to aircraft logs/records.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of aircraft logs for return to customer.
• Generate and release IMP message responses related to log control functions as directed.
• Assist and provide OJT to other members of the Aircraft Log Controller classification.
• Attend upgrading training for trade or personal development.
• Carry out filing, record keeping and detailed log entries.
• Perform other tasks as required within the classification

• A high school diploma or GED equivalency at a minimum. Post secondary education pertaining to the aerospace industry is an asset.
• Military or civilian experience with aircraft maintenance and technical records is an asset.
• The ability to type a minimum of 30 WPM.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is a must
• Experience with JD Edwards or similar enterprise system is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of, and experience with, the Automated Data for Aircraft Maintenance (ADAM) system is highly desirable.
• Capability to learn new computer programs, follow proceedures and become familiar with new technical terms
• The ability to manage multiple priorities and duties daily, corresponding with operational needs.
• The capability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, working well under pressure while maintaining precision when faced with deadlines.
• Strong organizational, time management and critical thinking skills.
• Must have a high attention to detail
• Professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Must be able to work well in a team
• An acute awareness of how maintenance requirements impact customers and aircraft airworthiness.
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies.
• Note: Candidate must successfully complete an IMP provided aptitude test as part of the application process
• Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
