As a Human Resource Assistant, you will work in conjunction with other People & Culture team members to provide hands-on support in a broad range of human resources functions including recruitment and retention, employee relations, labour relations, training and development, performance management, policy development and workforce planning ensuring consistency in application. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with employees at all levels, and communicating and delivering various HR programs and initiatives to the business. The HR Assistant will assist with the development and implementation of strategic Human Resources plans and the provision of HR support to internal clients.
Minimum qualifications for this position include:
- University degree in a related field and the ideal candidate holds a CPHR (Chartered Professional in Human Resources) designation or is willing to obtain.
- Other suitable equivalent combinations of directly related formal education and experience may be considered.
- The successful incumbent has broad related HR generalist experience and is proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Previous experience in a unionized environment along with experience with an HRIS system would be considered assets.
