Job Summary:
The Quality Assurance and Education Coordinator is the lead resource accountable for the development, implementation and oversight of the education and quality assurance functions of the organization.
The QAEC will actively participate in defining, implementing, and coordinating all quality improvement, education and risk management responsibilities. The QAEC will recommend standards, track indicators, and improvements in matters of quality and risk.
The QAEC will coordinate and provide standards and oversight for any corporate initiatives related to education and training.
Performance Requirements:
The QAEC must possess adequate physical abilities consistent with the requirements of the position including being physically, emotionally, and mentally fit to perform effectively and efficiently.
Demonstrated by a good attendance record and personal resiliency. The QAEC must exhibit effective project management skills and leadership qualities. They continuously evaluate their own skills and upgrade personal competencies as required to continue to be effective in the role. The QAEC accepts duties delegated by the departmental Managers, Directors and CEO that are within their personal competency base.
Employment Variables:
Seaview Manor is a twenty-four hour a day, seven day a week operation Typical work hours are Monday - Friday 0830-1630. The QAEC may be required to work outside normal office hours to complete employee education sessions and to respond to emergency situations when clinical, clerical, or administrative support is required to mount an effective emergency response. The QAEC may need to respond to the calls from staff outside of normal work hours.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor in Science in Nursing or equivalent of education and experience
· Member in good standing with the NSCN
· Current CPR
· Minimum of 3 years of progressive leadership or education training experience, preferably in LTC.
· Knowledge of Civica/Momentum RAI Assessments and Care Planning
· Proficient in Catalyst, and Microsoft systems
· Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) and Wound Care
· Project Management experience in a health care environment
· Experience in tracking, trending, and analysis of clinical performance data.
· Experience in quality and clinical process improvement and risk assessment preferred.
· Experience in staff development, training, and/or clinical education preferred.
· Proven ability to handle multiple priorities, organize efficiently, and manage time effectively.
· Demonstrated critical thinking, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills.
· Available to work weekends, evenings and flexible hours as needed for resident care/services.
