When you join our team as a Planning Technician, you will be a key part of the planning team responsible for all aspects of harvest and road layout and the implementation of the Operating Plan. Our Planning Technician will primarily work in the field and require a strong commitment to safety and the environment.

What You'll Do

  • Layout of harvest areas and road locations.
  • Conducting forest inventory surveys.
  • Timber cruising areas to determine eligibility for various harvest methods.
  • Relief logging supervision.
  • Other field or office activities as directed.

What You Offer

  • Graduate of a forestry technical or degree program, Registered Professional Forester (RPF) or Registered Forest Technician within NB, or eligible to become one.
  • Proficiency with databases, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and GIS applications.
  • Strong commitment to safety and environment.
  • Practical knowledge of timber quality and value, experience with survey techniques in the field or a willingness to develop.
  • Good interpersonal and strong communication skills.
  • Organized, results oriented with problem solving, decision-making and planning skills.
  • Flexible schedule, willing to work in the field a majority of the time with ability to work alone and in inclement weather.
