DUTIES

The City of Mount Pearl is currently seeking a motivated and experienced individual to work as a Summer Events Coordinator to support our Summer Programs and Events. The Summer Events Coordinator will be responsible for assisting departmental staff with operational services for the upcoming summer season. They must be comfortable to control and distribute/deliver recreation equipment and supplies, as well as assist in the delivery and set-up of special events equipment. The successful applicant will be required to participate in all training programs applicable to this position and other related work.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

· Applicants must be between the ages of 16 and 30 by June 2, 2025;

· High School Diploma (Must be graduating in 2025 or already graduated);

· Previous experience driving and delivering equipment;

· Carry out verbal and written instructions accurately and quickly;

· Maintain effective communications and cooperation with all levels of staff, participants, and the public;

· Familiarity with recreation program equipment, operations and activities would be an asset;

· Code of Conduct with Vulnerable Sector Check - Valid within the past 6 months;

· Valid Class 5 Driver's;

· Driver's Abstract (valid within the past 6 months);

· Applicants must be self-motivated and able to carry out responsibilities in an independent manner;

· Standard First Aid;

· Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR level C);

· Ability to perform labor intensive tasks such as lifting/moving equipment related to recreation programs and special events. The incumbent must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds;

· Some evening and weekend work is required.
