Oxford Food Group is the world's largest provider of Wild Blueberries, North America's largest producers of premium, frozen carrots and one of Canada's premier manufacturer's of onion rings and battered appetizers.

Meridia is thrilled to partner with Oxford Food Group in the recruitment of a Network Specialist as part of their Information Technology team based in Oxford, Nova Scotia.

Reporting to the Manager of Information Technology, this role will be responsible for working with the network team and assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our company's network infrastructure. Working closely with our IT department to ensure the network is performing optimally, securely and provide support to end-users.

Responsibilities:

• Work with other network personnel to maintain and enhance the company's network infrastructure, including routers, switches firewalls, and other network devices.

• Develop and implement network upgrades and improvements to support business

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network-related issues in a timely manner

• Monitor network performance and proactively identify potential issues

• Work with the IT team to ensure network security and compliance with industry standards

• Create and maintain network documentation and diagrams

• Plan and implement disaster recovery solutions for the network infrastructure

• Perform network capacity planning and ensure adequate network resources are available to support business needs

• Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to improve the network infrastructure

Qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering or a related field.

• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols, such as Radius, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN

• Experience with network devices and technologies.

• Experience with network monitoring and management tools.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Knowledgeable in cybersecurity best practices.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• CompTIA Network+ or similar certification.

• Experience with cloud-based networking and security solutions.

• Familiarity with SD-WAN, wireless networking, and network virtualization technologies.

• Experience in Fortinet.
