The Opportunity

As a valued member of the Regional Operations team, you will be responsible for:

  • leading, coaching and developing a team of engineering technologists involved in providing engineering and construction services to Newfoundland Power's joint-use communication partners
  • providing project management oversight and leadership, including directing and coordinating staff to deliver on project requirements and deadlines;
  • understanding, interpreting and managing utility joint-use agreements;
  • providing technical leadership to project managers, construction crews and contractors;
  • interacting with joint-use partners, customers, councils and other regulatory bodies; managing the billing and invoicing of associated joint-use work; and
  • preparing estimates and detailed project plans.

Your qualifications include:

  • a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a diploma in Engineering Technology;
  • a minimum of 5 years of relevant utility experience in an engineering/engineering technology role;
  • strong analytical, people management, coaching and facilitation skills;
  • a proven ability to generate results, manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a team environment.
  • You must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle driver's license. This position will require travel throughout the island portion of the province.

The preferred office location for this position is Gander or Grand Falls-Windsor; however, other Newfoundland Power office locations may be considered. There is a residency requirement for this position, whereby your primary residence must be within 40km of the agreed upon work location.

You are a highly motivated team player with a strong commitment to safety and customer service, an excellent work ethic, and effective interpersonal and communication skills. You are a creative individual with strong organizational skills who builds strong partnerships.
