The Opportunity:
The Marketing Lead, Corporate Initiatives, is responsible for showcasing EfficiencyOne's impact on energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction in Nova Scotia, while highlighting economic and community benefits. They drive energy savings by developing and executing strategic marketing plans for service delivery programs and collaborating with internal and external experts to ensure a customer-first approach across all touchpoints.
This role requires a strategic, self-motivated marketing leader with strong project management skills and attention to detail. A customer-centric, data-driven mindset and the ability to develop innovative marketing strategies are essential. The incumbent must use insights to support or influence others and clearly communicate expected outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic marketing plans to meet targets, including budgets and actions.
- Serve as marketing strategist and lead for key community-based programs and marketing-led events, such as home shows, ensuring alignment with brand and organizational goals.
- Report on campaign performance, focusing on conversion rates, audience engagement, and program participation.
- Leverage customer insights and market analytics to inform and refine marketing strategies and customer experience initiatives.
- Create and coordinate impactful content that tells the EfficiencyOne story across multiple platforms (e.g., social media, newsletters, blogs, presentations, videos).
- Collaborate with staff to vet content and align messaging with program objectives to ensure brand accuracy and consistency across all customer touchpoints.
- Manage end-to-end marketing projects, including cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, including Program Managers, Outreach Agents, and delivery partners.
- Uphold a safe, professional work environment and act as a positive ambassador of EfficiencyOne.
- Perform additional duties as required.
What Will Help You Succeed?
- University degree or Community College diploma in marketing, communications, or public relations, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum 7 years of strategic marketing experience, including planning, execution, and project management of concurrent initiatives.
- Proven leadership in guiding cross-functional teams (internal and external) to develop and implement marketing strategies.
- Skilled in strategy development, KPI setting, and content creation for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (portfolio required), with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Excellent client service skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
What to expect in your first several weeks on the job:
In the first week, expect to:
- Understand the Organization: Get oriented with EfficiencyOne's mission, values, and impact on energy efficiency and greenhouse gas reduction in Nova Scotia.
- Meet the Team: Engage in meet-and-greets with key internal stakeholders-especially Program Managers, Outreach Agents, and delivery partners.
- Review Existing Materials: Familiarize yourself with current marketing strategies, recent campaigns, brand guidelines, and key performance reports.
- Begin Observing Processes: Sit in on meetings related to ongoing programs, campaign planning, and customer engagement strategies.
- Set Up Tools & Access: Gain access to relevant platforms (project management, CRM, analytics tools, etc.) and begin exploring data and insights.
In the first month, expect to:
- Assess Current Initiatives: Analyze ongoing marketing initiatives and their performance metrics-especially around community-based programs and marketing-led events.
- Identify Quick Wins: Begin identifying opportunities to refine messaging, improve campaign performance, or enhance customer experience.
- Start Contributing: Support the planning of upcoming events (e.g., home shows) and collaborate on content ideas for social media, newsletters, or blogs.
- Build Relationships: Continue developing relationships with cross-functional teams and external partners to understand key touchpoints and customer needs.
- Draft Early Plans: Start drafting or contributing to strategic marketing plans that align with organizational goals.
In the first three months, expect to:
- Lead Campaigns: Begin taking the lead on marketing strategies and event activations; manage projects end-to-end with measurable objectives.
- Refine Strategies with Data: Use analytics and customer insights to refine and optimize campaigns, improving engagement and conversion.
- Enhance Brand Consistency: Ensure all marketing content reflects brand accuracy and aligns with program objectives across all channels.
- Communicate Results: Report on campaign performance to stakeholders-emphasizing impact, engagement, and areas for growth.
- Drive Collaboration: Champion a customer-first approach by fostering collaboration among internal teams and aligning messaging across all touchpoints.
- Influence Through Insights: Begin influencing internal decision-making through data-driven marketing recommendations.
