Global Wholesale Operations (Technical) Internship/Co-op - Fall 2025 (12 months)

Term: September 2025 - August 2026

Work Hours/ Week: 37.5

Global Wholesale Operations (GWO) services institutional, corporate, commercial, and wealth clients, and Scotia's Treasury group by processing securities, derivative and lending transactions. GWO helps meet business needs through efficient execution, managing risk, and complying with regulatory obligations throughout the client and trade lifecycles.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • You are currently enrolled in post-secondary education. All degrees are considered; financial, data, and computing streams are advantageous
  • Previous involvement in financial or data related projects through extracurricular activities such as conferences, clubs, competitions, and/or hackathons
  • Experience in Microsoft applications; notably Excel, PowerPoint, and optionally PowerBI
  • Demonstrated interest and knowledge in the financial markets
  • Experience in report writing, presenting strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven record of outstanding achievement in academic and extracurricular activities
  • Ability to overcome challenges presented by a constantly changing work environment, ready to propose innovative solutions
  • A keen interest and desire to learn new concepts
  • Coachability to learn from superiors and experienced individuals
  • Analytical thinker with a high level of attention to detail

Nice to have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with data analytics software packages, data visualization tools (Proficiency in Excel formulas, PowerBI)
  • Programming languages including Python, SQL, R, and VBA
  • Experience in project management tools such as JIRA
