Meridia Recruitment Solutions has partnered with Guildfords to recruit a Project Superintendent to join their team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Role Description:
The Project Superintendent will play an instrumental role in supporting and leading Fireproofing and Abatement projects throughout Atlantic Canada. By overseeing various crews, and maintaining consistent communication with Foreman, you will be responsible for ensuring complex projects are completed on-time, and on-budget. Further, you will be responsible for leading scheduling, procurement, safety, and quality at project sites, ensuring both a safe work environment and quality standards are always maintained.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Oversee various crews at the field-level to drive the project schedule, ensuring that completion dates and project milestones are met;
  • Support local Foreman with regards to procurement, material delivery, equipment needs, and site logistics;
  • Conduct regular site inspections and safety meetings to maintain a safe and secure work environment;
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with customers/clients, and other key project stakeholders;
  • Utilize project management software to document project status, reporting any changes in scope or unexpected costs to management;
  • Support local Foreman and crews with regards to construction drawing interpretation;
  • Provide documentation support to local Foreman, ensuring that tradespeople's timesheets are accurate;
  • Liaise with local Union representatives with regards to hiring, disciplinary issues, and other employee-related issues.

Your Qualifications:
As the ideal candidate, you are an energetic self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. You take great pride in the quality of your work and have a proven record of completing complex projects through clear communication of priorities on-site, and the ability to foster an environment that is committed to both safety and quality.


Qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a Construction Supervisor/Superintendent role;
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple crews and projects simultaneously;
  • Demonstrated experience reading and interpreting construction drawings;
  • Deep understanding of project schedules, and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines;
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, and on-site safety best practices;
  • Ability to lead and run effective site meetings with various personnel;
  • Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional judgement;
  • Excellent organization and time management skills;
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook);
  • Experience using SiteDocs, Fieldwire, and/or Jonas would be considered an asset.
