The Region Head provides leadership and direction to achieve overall sales and performance objectives. This senior leader is responsible for the implementation of MD strategies, processes and disciplines to achieve the organizations financial and client objectives.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
- Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.
Core Individual Responsibilities:
- Achieve business growth results through management of all sales and service activities
- Coach and develop team members to capitalize on deepening the relationship of all MD clients
- Active involvement in opportunities to profile MD within the medical community, governments (PTMAs) and other Centres of Influence.
- Participate in and lead change initiatives
- Provide guidance to Regional teams to collaborate on delivering a differentiated client experience for all MD clients
- Manage compliance to adhere to Scotiabank and MD standards, policies and procedures and ensure all aspects of risk are effectively managed.
- Lead partnering with Scotia Wealth and Scotiabank to leverage referral and growth opportunities within the Region
- Handle escalated client complaints to ensure a satisfactory outcome for all parties.
- Ensure appropriate reward and recognition activities are implemented within the Region.
- Accountable for creating, developing and maintaining high performance sales teams
- Develop active working relationships with National Peers to enhance sales results and share best practices

Core Team Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to enhance the client experience through embedding the sales and service management methodology to all the employees of the region.
- Lead and influence the team to share best demonstrated practices amongst themselves and with other regions.
- Validate and approve transition of client assignments as they move through segments.
- Monitor the development and execution of client contact models and annual service plans.
- Assist regional staff in conducting financial planning seminars and information meetings for members and Centres of Influence
Education and Professional Experience:
- CIRO licensed as a Registered Representative (CIRO-RR) including completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) and 90- day training; Wealth Management Essentials (post-licensing requirement)
- Life License (LLQP) (In QC, insurance licensing in Group Annuity Plans)
- Supervisor-Branch Manager Course
- The Certified Financial Planner (CFP) (Pl.Fin in Quebec) designation is considered an asset.
