Office Administrator (Full-Time Permanent)
Chisholm Services for Children believes that children deserve brighter futures. Chisholm is a non-profit multi service organization located in Halifax that provides care for children who are in need of placement outside of the home and who hold a care status with the Department of Opportunities and Social Development under the Children and Family Services Act. Chisholm also offers an afterschool literacy program for children 12 and younger as well as a trauma informed care group for caregivers approved and waiting to adopt. With a vision of providing more responsive services and building capacity, Chisholm is in the process of relocating from Halifax to Lower Sackville in the coming year. Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Office Administrator will provide a broad range of office management, technical and administrative support. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: file and document management including faxing, copying, scanning and filing; ensuring discretion when typing a range of documents including confidential correspondence and reports; maintaining and developing databases; utilizing spreadsheets; performing receptionist duties; processing incoming and outgoing mail; overseeing office inventory and equipment; assisting with meeting scheduling and preparation; light household duties; active involvement with fund development and coordinating special projects as required.
Qualifications:
Grade 12 and successful completion of a business administration course. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in office administration and supporting fund development. The successful applicant will demonstrate proficient skills in the use of a variety of computer software including Microsoft Office 365. The position requires the applicant to possess a solid understanding of office administration practices, managerial communication, records management as well as project management.
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills. They should have the ability to work with minimal supervision, exercise attention to detail and have discretion with confidential matters.
Additional qualifications include Current Criminal Records / Vulnerable Sector Checks and Current Child Abuse Registry Check.

Salary Range: $45,508 to $50,108 (under review)
