The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Planner to join our Fixed Plant Integrated Planning Team in Voisey's Bay, Labrador, a fly-in fly-out operation. Relocation to the Province of Newfoundland & Labrador will be required for this role.
This is an on-site position, working 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotational schedule. This is an 18 month-fixed term position.
As a Mechanical Maintenance Planner you work closely with all areas of maintenance and operations to ensure work is planned, scheduled, and ready for safe and accurate execution. Your experience and skills will ensure adequate utilization of resources, labour, and materials.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Utilize Safe Production tools in field discussions and exhibit behaviors of Safe Production and consider how to consistently reduce risk to As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) when executing tasks.
- Ensure that work plans are designed to safely operate without impact to employees, the business, the environment, the community, and the regulators.
- Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful execution of work orders to meet completion deadlines.
- Improve the efficiency of the planning process by developing and using standard jobs as templates following all procedures.
- Assist the team in achieving the overall area targets.
- Work collaterally and cross functionally, with colleagues, engineering, production, and services.
About You
Education:
- Post-secondary education is required.
- Interprovincial Red Seal in Millwright, Pipefitting, or another Mechanical discipline is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Maintenance Supervision, Maintenance Planning, or a closely related discipline in a heavy industrial or mining environment.
- Previous experience with SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and other computerized work management systems.
Skills:
- Knowledge of power generation, conveyors, pumps, vessels, and piping systems. would be an asset.
- Able to make decisions and prioritize work.
- Able to work in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of Asset Management concepts and systems.
- Knowledge of codes and the ability to read prints and schematics.
