Halifax Water is hiring for the job of Information Services Technician Level III. This is a full-time, term opportunity in the Corporate Services Department for a period of approximately14 months.
As an Information Services Technician Level III, you will:
- Be responsible for the provision of effective day-to-day operations, maintenance and support of Halifax Water's technical hardware, software and communication systems.
- Perform and provide support to other IS Support Technicians (Level I and II) as required due to workload or escalation.
To do this job, you need to have:
- Post-secondary diploma in Computer Science / Information Technology,
- Five years of experience relating to information technology support and communication
- Hands on experience with the following hardware/software:
- Microsoft desktop and server operating systems,
- Cloud computing platforms and services,
- Network security and firewalls,
- Hyperconverged infrastructure and virtualization technologies
- Data communication protocols,
- Email filtering and security,
- IT auditing / monitoring software,
- Connection to user applications and systems (GIS and SCADA would be an asset)
- ITIL Certification
- Certification in one of the following:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
- VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization or Microsoft Azure Administrator
- Equivalent certifications or experience may be considered
- A valid NS driver's license and access to reliable transportation
