Your Contribution
Your main responsibilities
- Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules
- Inspect the quality of construction and construction materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt, sealant and membrane).
- Monitor placement of various construction materials and workmanship.
- Report any non-conformance concerns to the management.
- Execute tests in the field or laboratory on construction materials to assess their quality.
- Prepare and collect samples for laboratory testing.
- Perform compaction testing by Nuclear Densometer.
- Test plastic concrete on site and cast samples for lab testing.
- Assist in conducting asphalt & concrete coring for thickness and material composition investigations.
- Ensure accuracy of test data.
- Write quality control inspection and test reports.
- Maintain testing equipment in good condition.
- Maintain calibration of equipment.
Your Profile
What makes you unique
- Technical Diploma in a field related to Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering;
- More than 2 years of experience in highway materials, construction materials sampling and testing and inspection, and association registration;
- CCIL or ACI certification (asset);
- Familiar with OPSS specifications relating to concrete, asphalt and soil compaction;
- Familiar with identifying soils using the Unified Soil Classification System;
- Ability to handle samples up to 25kg of materials regularly;
- CCIL or ACI certification (asset);
- Must have a valid Ontario G Driver's License;
- Must have a personal vehicle in good condition; and,
- Demonstrated interest and sensitivity towards occupational health and safety.
