Position Overview:

The Business Analyst, Process and Productivity uses continuous improvement and analytical methods to understand, model, and improve productivity in the overall Merchandising organization. In addition, the individual will look to improve business processes and support critical business strategies by providing recommendations for improvement to the merchandising leadership team. The Business Analyst, Process and Productivity is responsible for:

  • Measuring / analyzing current and proposed process metrics
  • Identifying inefficiencies and opportunities for improving merchandising processes through process improvements within the Merchandising and MET ecosystem; assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes.
  • Partner with a variety of stakeholders to determine key opportunities for continuous improvement within the planning cycle and output to drive both short term and long term improvement
  • Consults with internal and external teams to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current procedures, problems, input and output requirements.
  • Facilitating collaborative brain-storming and problem solving with key stakeholders and developing action plans and recommendations for solution implementation
  • Evaluates existing reporting and analytic tools, document deficiencies and new requirements
  • Validate that reporting and data analysis tools meet documented business requirements
  • Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of reporting, data analysis and data models
  • Support divisional projects focused on labour productivity
  • Support the business through ad-hoc queries, and maintains reports from a variety of resources as specific to department or organizational needs

This position requires a detail oriented individual who is able to support multiple projects and/or business functions. The Business Analyst, Process and Productivity possesses excellent communication skills, works well with a team, interacts with multiple levels and functions within Merchandising and across the broader business, and is able to develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive process-mapping of current business activities to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements related to process improvement
  • Develop and manage action plans associated with improvement initiatives
  • Prepare presentations to communicate findings, progress updates and final outcomes of process improvement activities to key stakeholders and senior leadership

• Reports to Manager, Programs MET/Merchandising

• No direct reports

Travel Requirements:

• Overnight travel Limited

• Travel to Toronto Store Support and store locations as needed.

Hybrid Work:

Location Independent

Working Conditions:

• Working in an office setting: computer work, camera on virtual meetings, taking support calls

• Occasional working in a store /warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy. Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.

Minimum Education:

  • University degree or the equivalent work experience

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience (ideally in a retail or corporate environment) with emphasis on process improvements and driving efficiencies

Minimum Leadership Experience:

  • N/A

Required Certifications:

  • N/A

Other Requirements/Assets:

  • Experience with Six Sigma or other Process Improvement Methodology is preferred
