This Senior Manager, Cloud Licensing Contract Specialist role is responsible to coordinate the procurement and sourcing-related activities for the Cloud Acceleration Program (CAP), one of Scotiabank's top strategic priorities. This roles works closely with the appropriate enterprise and technology Procurement partners to expediate and enable the program objectives. The role will collaborate with senior business unit leadership and vendors in pursuit of improvements in quality, cost, and service levels. The Senior Manager will work within the current processes with a goal to drive reductions in the total cost of goods and services procured under the Cloud Program.

  • Develop relationships with IT leaders to support program objectives, influence key stakeholders and jointly develop strategic sourcing strategy for CAP.
  • Collaborate with leaders to fully understand key business drivers, spend drivers, and achieve required support levels.
  • Obtain deep understanding of the existing contracts within scope for CAP and investigate and identify opportunities for licensing and service cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation through procurement.
  • Help drive the program's platform and application roadmap by reflecting licensing/contractual constraints while keeping program leadership informed on impacts with thorough tracking and analysis.
  • Assist in managing agreements with vendor partners, supporting drafting, reviewing, analyzing, and documenting a wide variety of contracts and licensing agreements, including consulting agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, and vendor work orders.
  • Track and report on sourcing initiatives, ensuring effective management in line with program timelines.
  • In partnership with Procurement, establish and develop on-going strategic relationships with key suppliers during the project.
  • Proactively work with the Business Line and contract owners to understand business needs, business strategy, and pipeline of contract renewals to build an overall supplier contract strategy and consolidate and reduce contracts where opportunity exists.
  • Contribute to a disciplined effort to influence spend and drive cost savings across all segments of the program.
  • Support consistent application of procurement processes across constituent groups.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Understands how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • Bachelor's degree in management, business, or related field; master (MA or MSc) in business or engineering, CIS, science, or finance an asset
  • Minimum of 5-10 years progressive sourcing/procurement experience
  • Global sourcing experience including technology services-related expertise
  • Ability to bridge communications between Sourcing, IT, and business stakeholders/partners with a focus on developing and understanding contracts and negotiations to deliver against bank's needs
  • Excellent change-leadership and conflict resolution management as well as advanced problem solving skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and comfort in speaking with senior leaders at the Bank
  • Ability to comprehend complex technical and financial issues and use them to inform the creation of effective action plans and strategies.
  • Ability to develop collaborative working relationships with global stakeholder groups. Superior interpersonal and communication skills, exhibits a high level of professionalism
  • Knowledge and understanding of emerging IT and related architecture (asset)
