In this role, you will :

Responsibility 1 : Lead the National Monthly Giving Strategy and Track Progress

  • Evaluate all aspects the current monthly giving programs, identify areas of opportunity and determine any activities that should stop or change.
  • Work with colleagues across Digital & Direct Marketing to develop the overarching, long-term monthly giving strategy, taking all channels and programs into account, including all retention efforts.
  • Set long-term revenue and donor KPI goals for monthly giving, subsequently meet with all key stakeholders regularly to track progress to annual and longer-term goals.
  • Provide leadership in the development and implementation of long-term channel plans.
  • Build strong, cohesive linkages across the full Digital & Direct Marketing team to ensure all efforts to raise monthly giving funds are leveraged and aligned.
  • Monitor the program health metrics, including ROI, for each channel, make recommendations on spend to support long-term growth goals, integrate learnings from analysis into strategic plans.
  • Provide reports on overall monthly giving for the management team and board as required.
  • Work with colleagues to develop propensity models and research to understand supporters, improve overall performance and drive data collection.

Responsibility 2 : Oversight of the Core Monthly Giving Team and Programs

  • Oversee the Monthly Giving team working on Face-to-Face, Telemarketing and Lead Generation programs with an eye to developing a culture within the team of accountability for results, donor-centricity, teamwork, customer service and continuous learning.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process for face-to-face, telemarketing, lead generation.
  • Oversee the creation of the annual operational plan, and associated strategies for the core channels.
  • Maintain the relationship with vendors at the leadership level, manage overall performance and negotiations, meeting regularly with agencies to review results, plan and discuss testing opportunities.
  • Oversee Procurement activity required relating to vendors and contract tendering.

Responsibility 3 : Lead Monthly Giving Product Development and Innovation Projects

  • The Director will lead monthly giving product development with the view to create an offer that will work across channels, this will involve research, concept development, prototyping and evaluation.
  • Produce the Business Case to get buy-in on innovations in consultation with channel experts.
  • Make recommendations on how to find capacity, when required, to bring innovations to market.
  • Help ensure the migration of all monthly donors to Fundraise Up leads to a better experience for donors and improves retention.

Responsibility 4 : Collaborate on Monthly Giving Processes

  • Provide high level insight into how well the operational aspects of monthly giving work, making recommendations to streamline processes and/or ensure better cohesion.
  • Use internal processes and systems to maintain line of sight into the ways a monthly donor can attrite passively, monitor any trends that need attention.
  • As part of CRC's quality processes, the Director will contribute towards monitoring the overall success of donation processing and reporting in conjunction with the Philanthropy Operations Team and Finance.

What we are looking for :

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 8 - 10 years of progressive, relevant experience as an outstanding fundraiser or marketer with proven experience in developing programs and strategies that have driven results; preference will be given to candidates with experience growing monthly giving programs.
  • Superior analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information and to communicate it to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated track record of providing strategic direction in the development and implementation of targeted marketing campaigns designed to achieve growth objectives while maintaining effective ROI.
  • Knowledge of donor relation principles and data segmentation techniques.
  • Knowledge of BBCRM as asset.
  • Ability to effectively develop strong cross-functional partnerships, evidenced by a track record of teamwork and collegiality, building relationships within and beyond the fundraising and marketing functions.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills - French an asset.
  • Excellent management and team building skills with demonstrated leadership qualities, superior interpersonal and negotiation skills, tact and diplomacy.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial management skills.
